Description

"A wise man makes his own decisions, an ignorant man follows public opinion." ~ Chinese Proverb

Inspired by an RP with :iconslowusaurus: and :icondjp15:
Also sort of based on an OC by :iconzhanrae30:

Dragon Squadron, the PRC's elite naval fighter group, was now among the mercenary group SPECTRES. They had left the People's Liberation Armed Forces after discovering that their own government was nothing more than a puppet for the mysterious "Thanatos". As such, Thanatos desired to have them "taken care of" to ensure the People's Republic of China remain wrapped around the organization's finger...

Originally assigned to the carrier CV-16 Liaoning, Zhao and "Dragon Squadron" were the PLAN's elite fighter squadron, comparable to the likes of the "Witches" in Russia, "Beast" in America, or the UK's "Nimbus".

"Zhao", also known as the "Dragon of the East", was the Squadron's flight commander. An experienced pilot, Zhao was chosen by the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group to be the test pilot of the new J-20N, a carrier-based variant of the land-based J-20 that entered service in 1998.
Zhao has a rather laidback view on the world. He held no animosity towards the West, only really desiring to be in the skies at supersonic speeds. In a dogfight, Zhao can get the large J-20 to be quick and nimble, often to the surprise of any Thanatos pilots that happen to encounter him. His J-20N also carries the mark of the "Sea Dragon", a serpent in Ancient Chinese history that was said to have prowled the coasts hundreds of years ago...

DRAGON SQUADRON:

4 x Shenyang J-15 Flying Shark Fighters

4 x Nanchang Q-5N Fantan attack aircraft

1 x Chengdu J-20N Carrier-Based Stealth Fighter

--

China and the J-20 are usually depicted as "bad guys", so its a nice change of pace to have them be allies!

Note: I based the Dragon emblem off the Sea Dragon from RWBY. Also, going off the "Ace Combat Zero" style of having operational stealth planes in the 90s early 2000s.

F-22: IOC 1991

F-35A/B/C: IOC 1996, 2002, and 2005 respectively

J-20: IOC 1998

Su-57: IOC expected 2015 (Delays due to stolen prototypes)
